Job Description

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all materials and equipment in the store. Regularly update inventory logs and utilize inventory management systems to track the availability and usage of resources.

Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies. Verify their quality and quantity against purchase orders and delivery notes, and report any discrepancies.

Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the movement of materials and equipment to and from the construction site. Ensure timely delivery to specific locations within the site to support project schedules.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while handling and storing materials. Ensure that all storage areas are organized and free from hazards.

Tool Management: Issue tools and equipment to construction workers as needed. Maintain records of issued items and ensure their return in good condition.

Communication: Liaise with suppliers, site managers, and construction teams to facilitate effective communication regarding material needs and stock levels.

Waste Management: Oversee the disposal of waste materials in compliance with environmental regulations. Implement recycling initiatives where possible.

Job Requirements

Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain a well-organized and efficient storage area, with attention to detail in managing inventory records.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and suppliers.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Resourcefulness in addressing issues with materials and supplies to prevent disruptions in construction activities.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with inventory management software and basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.

Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction sites and materials handling.

Educational and Experience Requirements
Education: High school certificate or equivalent. Additional training in inventory management or logistics is advantageous.

Experience: Prior experience in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred, though not always mandatory. On-the-job training is often provided.
