1) Operations
Assist in overall kitchen inventories
Check the quantity and quality of food items and mis-en-place to be produced, prepared for the day with a view to exercise maximum control on wastage and achieve optimum profitability
May assist chef in the development of new menus
Follow portion controlled recipes and garnish requirements as necessary
Ensure that perishable items are stored quickly and efficiently
At the end of the working day to ensure that all areas and sections are cleared

2) Food Hygiene and Safety Standards
Ensure, observe and enforce compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
Ensure that the general cleanliness and condition of the kitchen is maintained

Job Requirements

Min. 2 years of experience in similar capacity/relevant working experience
Tertiary academic qualifications
PC literate with knowledge in MS Office
