Job Description

To be responsible for the effective co-ordination of the purchasing and procurement function of the Park Hotel Group ensuring that all purchases are conducted in an orderly manner in accordance with established procedures and managed in good governance.

Job Requirements

  • To effectively and efficiently assist the Group Purchasing Manager.
  • To supervise the purchasing activities of the department which will involve processes including calling for tenders, suppliers’ information, product evaluations and substitutions, price negotiations and comparisons, quality checks, purchasing, etc. To ensure that PHG receives competitive prices from suppliers.
  • To draw up a list of authorized suppliers which PHG will buy its products based on price competitiveness, product reliability/quality and other relevant factors.
  • To perform global purchase and arrange logistic for goods to deliver to respective hotels.
  • To effectively source for suppliers and to obtain the best possible quote from the suppliers for all items, without compromising on minimum quality and standards.
  • To carry out periodic price evaluations of PHG’s purchases thereby ensuring that the Group is paying fair and competitive prices.
  • To be updated on products availability either because of market trends or seasonal supplies and to provide such inputs of the Hotels or any other Heads of Department who may need such information.
  • To provide a high level of purchasing services to department managers and kitchen management regarding the products purchased and daily marketing items.
  • To conduct regular market survey to ensure goods purchased are keeping up with market trends.
  • To conduct Performance Evaluation of Vendors with end users, a key process of measuring the capabilities and performance of vendor before the expiry of the Contract.
  • To advise department managers on product information, substitution availability, etc.
  • To attend to complaints and feedback from user’s department on purchases and to take appropriate actions with suppliers that provide these products which do not meet the desired quality.
  • To take charge of petty cash for wet markets and other small item purchases.
  • To contribute toward the F&B sales of the Hotel’s outlets by ensuring that they provide good quality food and beverage through good purchasing strategies.
  • To undertake whatever related duties or tasks that may be assigned by the Superior from time to time.
