Job description

To be responsible for providing courteous and efficient services to the guests according to the established standard of operations of the outlet or department of assignment (ie, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping and Front Office).

Job Requirements

(For F&B Service) 

  • To ensure that mis-en place/side station is all set up with food items, non-food items such as crockery and chinaware before the shift commences. 
  • To replenish supplies and linen as and when necessary. 
  • To ensure that tables under his charge have the correct cutleries and table settings before the shift commences.
  • To meet, greet and lead guests to their seats.
  • To take food and beverage orders and serve them.
  • To clear and remove soiled dishes, and bring them to the dish washing area.
  • To present bills to diners, collect payment and give to the cashier, return change or credit card to diners.
  • To reset tables after use.
  • Any other suitable task as and when assigned by the Assistant Outlet Manager / Outlet Manager.


 (For Housekeeping)

  •  To make beds, dust the room, vacuum the carpets and clean the bathroom.
  •  To provide Night-Turn-Down service.
  •  To report to Engineering Department room or corridor defects.
  •  To check mini-bar consumption.
  • To maintain the linen room stock and bathroom supplies in the pantry.
  •  To stock up the maid’s trolley.
  •  To handle “Lost and Found” items.
  •  Any other suitable task as and when assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.


 (For Front Office)

  •  To register and assign rooms, or up-sell to incoming guests, ensuring that registration cards are filled up correctly. To attend to departing guests who need to check out as per procedures.
  • To attend to all requests and requirements from guests promptly and handle complaints tactfully.
  • To liaise with Guest Services Manager or Executive regarding any complaints.
  • To assist walk-in guests with alternative accommodation in the event of a full house situation.
  • To inform other departments of arrival, room changes, check out and special arrangements.
  • To maintain mails and information desk routines as per procedures.
  • To accept reservation in the absence of Reservation personnel.
  • To check all guests bills before presentation to guest upon check out. To collect or charge all monies due to the hotel to the respective travel agents or companies.
  • To perform cashiering and maintain a complete record of guests’ account.
  • To declare all cash shortages or excess to Accounts Department.
  • Any other suitable task as and when assigned by the Guest Services Manager / Senior Guest Services Manager / Assistant Front Office Manager / Front Office Manager
